So, last night I messed up garter stitch. To set the scene:

Pretty inspiring, right? It was dark, I was tired, Alice was not holding up her end of the bargain (just her end, um middle, of the couch) and before I knew it, I’d strayed from the pattern in a minor, but highly annoying fashion. In fact, I’m not even sure I did stray … just that somewhere along the line I’d done something and now it didn’t match. Either make the same mistake, or fix the new one, I guess. Anyway, tinking back fuzzy, loosely-plied handspun singles is even worse than tinking lace. But I will perservere.
That’s about it. I am very much looking forward to the weekend.
ugh. friday makes everything better. (also, bacon. but i digress.) alice, you are supposed to be helping!
I’d have a very long talk with that girl Alice. She needs to step up.
Bummer about the garter stitch snafu…
As the Yarn Harlot says, “experienced knitters don’t make fewer mistakes than new knitters. they make bigger ones faster.”
However, Friday = yay! Sleep + coffee + Halloween treats + cat-snuggling are on my agenda.
The weekend is here! Seriously, it is just about the best invention ever. Two days off, perfectly positioned after every single Friday? Genius.
Haha, I like that Yarn Harlot quote. So true. On the plus side, your yarn is still pretty even when the garter stitch is messed up.
