Well, hello there.

So … it’s been a while.  I live in Michigan now; I have new glasses and a job — not tenure-track, but a real-life paying job in my field.  Students call me Professor Katie.  It’s pretty awesome.  I won’t lie.

It’s also straight-up exhausting.  Teaching 3 courses and coordinating TAs is no joke.  No joke at all.

I haven’t knit in months.

  1. So happy to see you back! Congratulations on your new job and move. I’m sure you’ll find your way back to knitting soon enough. :-)

  2. Welcome to the Upper Midwest, and hooray for gainful employment doing what you love! Congrats, Katie! Bummer about the lack of knitting, but it sounds like you’re not at loose ends whatsoever (and all those apples look delicious). Get in touch if you make it to Chicago.

All’s well here — just waiting for the baby to make his arrival. I was knitting up a storm for our little guy until pregnancy-related swelling and carpal tunnel syndrome made me slow down. Bah! Just when you want to do the greatest amount of knitting possible.

  3. Congrats on the move and new job. Maybe a little spare time will fall into your lap for yarn related goodness.

Me, I’ve moved too and ended up in California with an awesome, new husband. Things are good.

  4. Helloooo!

I did wonder what you were up to. Welcome back.

Me, I’m now unemployed, much of the time (I’m locuming, which is well-paid and sometimes fun, but sporadic), and trying to work out what I want to do when I grow up. I know it’s not medicine any more, and after that …
[gazes at the chasm she has once again opened up right in front of her feet and wonders if those small sticks she's been collecting as firewood might be enough to build a bridge, then realises that even squinting she can't see the other side].

Hooray for new glasses and new jobs, Prof K!

  5. Congrats on the job, Jodi! What part of the mitten are you in? My years in Kalamazoo were hands down my favorite of my life. I loved it out there!
