chunky baktus : in action!

Remember the chunky baktus?  (Mysteriously un-raveled until this very moment.)   It’s pretty great and very giant.

Apparently, this is my early-morning presidential pose.  What caught my attention on the ceiling?  No idea.  A cobweb?  Most likely.  In any case, it was the last day of school before Thanksgiving break …

… and now I’m back, after a fantastic trip to California for the fourth-annual Sistersgiving: I made a start on Leaves of Grass, ate lots of delicious food, got plenty of sleep, and caught up with my sister.

I hope everyone who celebrated had a wonderful holiday (weekend)!

  1. So cheerful and cozy! I didn’t realize how substantial and chunky it was from your photos when it was in progress.

A California Thanksgiving sounds awesome — I hope you had some great wine, too (one of my favorite parts of visiting California, even though I’m not truly a wine person).

  2. the first time I read this, I thought, man, katie’s going to read Whitman on vacation?! love the pose in this picture, and boh and i are happy to hear that sistergiving was a success!

  3. Now you’re tempting me to knit a giant Baktus in a chunky yarn. Nevermind that I’m already wearing a fingering weight version.

    Sounds like a great holiday.
